The police operation took place early this Wednesday, after officers received a report of a robbery on Mas de l’Aguiló street, in the Vilafortuny area. Thanks to the description provided by witnesses, patrols located the suspects shortly after near Castell d’Almansa street.
During the search, officers found a bag of coins matching the report filed by one of the victims. The investigation indicates that the group used frequency jamming devices to prevent owners from properly locking their car doors, thus facilitating access to the interior without forcing the locks.
In addition to the coins, a bank card stolen from another person was recovered. The detainees, a minor and three men aged between 19 and 20, were intercepted after having discarded the electronic device used for the crime.
The minor has been placed at the disposal of the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office, while the other three detainees have been brought before the duty investigating court in Reus to answer for the events.
