The Catalan Government has unveiled a record-breaking 75 million euro investment plan for Tarragona city in 2026, focusing on long-awaited infrastructure and healthcare projects.

The Joan XXIII Hospital is the primary beneficiary, receiving 55.7 million euros this year. This funding is part of a massive 215 million euro renovation project aimed at adding 80,000 square meters of modern medical facilities by 2029.

"Tarragona is finally getting the treatment it deserves from the Generalitat."

Construction of the Judicial Forum will also begin in 2026 with an initial 5.6 million euro allocation. This project will consolidate eight different court locations into a single 40,000 square meter complex, saving the government over 1 million euros in annual rent.
Additionally, 5.7 million euros will be used to complete the new Fire Station, while 2.3 million euros are earmarked for the National Archaeological Museum (MNAT). The museum is expected to reopen its doors in late 2026 after being closed for eight years.
