The Catalan Government has announced an 11.8 million euro investment to improve 45 kilometers of seven regional roads in Tarragona and the Terres de l'Ebre region this year.

The project is part of the Sustainable Pavements program, which aims to invest 250 million euros by 2029. Key roads scheduled for maintenance include the C-422 in Constantí, the C-37 between Alcover and Valls, and the C-42 connecting l'Aldea and Tortosa.

"We are doubling the investment destined for the maintenance and improvement of the Generalitat's road surfaces."

The upgrades focus on two main pillars: road safety and decarbonization. By using sustainable materials and circular economy techniques, the Government expects to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by at least 25% compared to conventional roadwork methods.
