Around 500 people gathered this Sunday at the Balcó del Mediterrani in Tarragona to demand that the Joan XXIII Hospital provides 24-hour mechanical thrombectomy services.

The demonstration, organized by the Plataforma per la Sanitat Pública and FAVT, targeted the Catalan Health Minister, Olga Pané. Protesters warned they would seek her resignation if the Government fails to implement a full 24/7 service instead of the currently planned 12-hour shift.

"They are responsible for deaths and sequelae. Let them think about what they voted for when a friend or relative suffers a stroke."

The event highlighted a political divide, as PSC mayors from Tarragona and Reus were absent following recent meetings with the Catalan Health Service. However, representatives from Junts, ERC, Comuns, and PP joined the crowd to support the local healthcare demands.
