A Tarragona court has granted provisional release to a hunter detained for the accidental shooting of a man in the Budellera area on December 21st.

The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested the suspect on December 29th after finding the victim's body with a gunshot wound near the Nàstic football stadium. The magistrate has ordered monthly court appearances and revoked his hunting and weapons licenses while the investigation for involuntary manslaughter continues.
The deceased is believed to be linked to an illegal lentisk harvesting ring. The Civil Guard recently dismantled a criminal organization in Reus and Mataró involved in smuggling this shrub to Europe, allegedly laundering 32 million euros from the illicit trade.
