The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, defended the PSC's position in Constantí, stating that "we neither bend nor surrender" in the face of judicial difficulties and appealing to the presumption of innocence.

The First Secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, raised his tone during his speech at the Festa de la Rosa in Constantí, acknowledging a "complicated week" for the party. Forcefully, he defended the strength of socialists in the face of ongoing judicial cases, both those affecting the circle of President Pedro Sánchez and those related to José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero.
"We believe in the presumption of innocence against those who already condemn without even listening," declared Illa, who recalled that today marks eight years since the motion of no confidence that ousted Mariano Rajoy (PP). The president highlighted the progress made in recent years in terms of freedoms, economic growth, pension revaluation, and social rights.
Illa emphasized Catalonia's role as an "international reference point," highlighting the Port of Tarragona as an "emerging power." He also pointed out recent agreements, such as the pact with education unions and the budget agreement, considering the education agreement as "the first step to working together for excellence" after years of resource shortages.
The president thanked ERC and Comuns for their "demanding" approach but also for their "willingness to allow the country to move forward," in contrast to "the noise and more noise from others."
