The blaze, which broke out shortly after 12 PM this Tuesday, is extensive, and firefighters are working intensely to prevent the flames from spreading to the highway. At 1:02 PM, visibility was severely reduced, leading to a request for the Mossos d'Esquadra to halt traffic, although it was ultimately only slowed down. The fire is located at kilometer 1,156 in the southbound direction.
Six fire crews from the Tarragona, Reus, and Sarral stations, along with personnel from the Emergency Region, are engaged in extinguishing the fire. This is the second fire in this same area in less than a week, as another similar fire occurred last Friday.
In addition to this main fire, two other vegetation fires have been reported in the province. In Vimbodí i Poblet, an uncontrolled agricultural fire required the intervention of one fire crew. The SEM (Emergency Medical Services) attended to two individuals who were attempting to extinguish the flames, which affected approximately 200 square meters of land near a farmhouse.
Furthermore, in L'Ametlla de Mar, a vegetation fire in the median of the AP-7 highway, at kilometer 295, caused a traffic jam of about two kilometers. Two fire crews worked to extinguish it, which was declared under control at 1:43 PM.
