Railway traffic on the southern Rodalies corridor experienced interruptions and later single-track operations due to a fire originating in one of the wagons of a freight train. The incident temporarily halted trains between Sant Vicenç de Calders and Reus.

Eight units from the Generalitat Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, as the train was carrying dangerous goods. Despite the potential severity, the emergency services confirmed that the fire did not affect the cargo, but exclusively the wheel area of one of the wagons.

As a precautionary measure, Civil Protection has placed the Special Plan for Emergencies due to Accidents in the Transport of Dangerous Goods by Road and Rail in Catalonia (TRANSCAT) on alert.
