Data from the Consumer Price Index (CPI), published on Thursday, January 15 by the National Statistics Institute (INE), confirm that the price increase in Camp de Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre stood at 2.8%. This figure is identical to that recorded during the month of November.
The sectors that experienced the most significant increases were leisure and culture, with a notable rise of 3.1%. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.5%), housing, water, electricity and gas (0.6%), clothing and footwear (0.3%), and health (0.4%) also registered increases.
The year-on-year variation remained stable, reflecting a compensation between increases in services and decreases in basic goods.
These upward trends were mitigated by price decreases in several essential categories. Food prices fell by 0.3%, followed by furniture and household items (-0.4%), transport (-0.5%), and communications (-0.1%).
