Activist Josep Foguet Coll has been elected as the new coordinator for the Tarragona group of Amnesty International, replacing Marco Flores, who had held the position since 2021.

Foguet, 63, originally from Montblanc, studied at the University of Barcelona and worked as a secondary school teacher in Tarragona, Badalona, and Menorca. He is a dedicated activist for both environmental causes and human rights.
The Tarragona local group is one of the oldest Amnesty International branches in Spain, boasting over 40 years of activity. With nine core activists, the group operates in cities including Tarragona, Reus, Salou, and Cambrils, supported by 1,394 members across the region.
Key annual events include the Cities for Life - Against the Death Penalty action held every November 30th. The group's headquarters are located at the Gregal Civic Center in Reus, serving as a hub for human rights advocacy in the province.
