The Port of Tarragona has reinforced its position as a strategic Mediterranean logistical node for the energy and petrochemical sectors during its participation in two major summits in Rotterdam.

The port delegation attended StocExpo and the Carbon Capture Europe Summit to highlight Tarragona's competitive advantages. As the logistics partner for Southern Europe's largest petrochemical cluster, the port is positioning itself as a key player in the global energy transition.

"It is essential to boost synergies between port activities and the chemical sector through the ChemMed cluster."

Key strategic projects presented include Ecoplanta, which focuses on synthetic methanol production, and H2Med, the future hydrogen infrastructure connecting the Iberian market with Europe. These initiatives aim to establish the port as a hub for both importing and exporting sustainable molecules.
