The rail operator Renfe will increase the daily capacity of Avant services linking Lleida and Barcelona by 1,134 seats, including stops at Camp de Tarragona station, starting Monday, March 9th.

The upgrade involves introducing Serie 106 high-capacity trains on four of the most popular routes. These new models offer 581 seats per journey, providing better accessibility and energy efficiency compared to the Serie 120 trains currently in use.
For Barcelona-bound travel, the 7:35 AM service from Camp de Tarragona will gain 105 seats, while the 7:53 PM train will add 343. In the opposite direction, services arriving at the Tarragona station at 6:40 PM and 10:04 PM will each see an increase of 343 seats.
According to Renfe and the Department of Territory, this reinforcement follows a mobility study aimed at supporting regular commuters. The initiative is part of a broader strategic plan to align transport supply with actual passenger demand.
