Residents of Racó del Cèsar continue their fight to ensure that an administration takes responsibility for the maintenance of the Camí de Creixell, a stretch that marks the boundary between the municipalities of Creixell and La Pobla de Montornès, which “nobody wants to take charge of.” The specific point of conflict is the link between Camí de Creixell street and the T-210 road, which provides access to the urbanization, although the section itself falls within the municipal boundary of La Pobla de Montornès.
The administrative inaction has led residents to demand urgent improvements, including the repair of cracked asphalt, better signage, increased night lighting and visibility, and, crucially, making the road accessible for pedestrians, as many people use it for walking. This neglected situation has persisted for at least a year and a half, during which time the road “has been degrading with every rain episode” and the constant passage of vehicles, including heavy goods trucks.
For at least a year and a half, residents using this road have been demanding to be able to get home safely, something they consider very basic.
The commitment secured from the Mayor of Creixell, Montse Muñoz, last December, involves opening a dialogue with the neighboring government to study joint collaborations, either in applying for subsidies or in other administrative procedures, as explained by Emili Badia, a resident of the complex. The promise also includes the presence of opposition councillor Pilar Romero in the meetings to ensure transparency.
