A Spanish citizen, originally from Reus and residing in Huesca, has been convicted for his links to jihadist terrorism, including indoctrination, glorification, and weapons possession.

A man, born in Reus and arrested in Huesca, has been convicted by the Audiencia Nacional for crimes of self-indoctrination and self-recruitment for terrorism, as well as glorification of terrorism. The conviction follows an investigation by the National Police into his social media profiles, where he shared jihadist content and incited violence.
During the investigation, which began in June 2024, various electronic devices and weapons were seized from the convicted man's home, including a rifle and a pistol, as well as training equipment such as airsoft rifles. The computer material contained videos with speeches from leaders of groups like Daesh and Al Qaeda, and messages expressing a desire to join the 'jihad'.
In intercepted phone conversations, the man expressed his intention to go to Gaza to fight Jews, even proposing the purchase of drones or self-immolation. Money transfers to detention camps in Syria linked to Daesh were also detected.
The final sentence imposes two years of prison and three years of supervised release for self-indoctrination, and one year of prison, two years of supervised release, and a fine of 2,160 euros for glorifying terrorism. The investigation was initiated by the Provincial Information Brigade of Zaragoza.
