Salou Hosts 150 Participants in International Petanque Tournament

Salou hosted the Salou-Costa Dorada International Petanque Tournament, which gathered nearly 150 participants and 32 teams from various parts of Catalonia, other autonomous communities, and Andorra.

The competition, organized by the Salou Petanque Club, saw the Club Petanca Martorell (Barcelona) crowned champions of the general category. The Club Petanca Salou emerged victorious in the Consolation category, while Club Petanca La Plana, from Vila-seca, took the title in the Repechage category.
The Mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, attended the awards ceremony, which concluded a day marked by competition and camaraderie among participants.
The municipal petanque courts of Salou, located in the park bordered by Tarragona and Pere Galés streets and the 30 d’Octubre promenade, served as the venue for the tournament. These facilities feature five fixed courts and space to set up up to twelve playing areas for championships and major events.
