Salou is already gearing up for the highly anticipated Golden Nights, scheduled from August 1st to 15th. This edition will feature an extensive and diverse program, designed for both residents and visitors, spanning fifteen intense days of cultural activities, music, family entertainment, and heritage appreciation.
This year's event will have a strong institutional focus with the participation of the Director General of Tourism of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Cristina Lagé, as the opening speaker. The inaugural speech will take place on Saturday, August 1st, at 8:30 PM, at the Xalet Torremar, marking the start of festivities that reinforce Salou's position as a leading tourist and cultural hub on the Costa Daurada. Lagé's presence signifies recognition of the municipality's tourism appeal and its year-round efforts to foster a high-quality, sustainable, and diversified tourism model. Following the speech, an official firecracker announcement will signal the commencement of the celebrations.
Maritime tradition will gain prominence with the Calada de les Malles - Rossegall, a re-enactment of ancient fishing techniques, accompanied by children's workshops, a popular sardine barbecue, and a sea shanty singing session, all aimed at highlighting Salou's maritime identity.
Popular culture will also play a central role, with activities such as La Batrobada, the parade of invited traditional groups, the Marxa Aquàtica Salou 2026 (Aquatic March), traditional sardana dances, a children's fire run, the Nit del Foc (Night of Fire) with a pyrotechnic route through the town, and numerous events organized by local festive associations.
Musically, the Golden Nights will offer top-tier performances catering to all tastes, including concerts by Merche, the legendary group Fórmula V, the acclaimed Mecano tribute band Hijo de la Luna, The William Miller Band, Erik López & Cactus Band, and the Salou Festival Orchestra as part of the Costa Daurada International Music Festival.
The program also includes flamenco shows, Aragonese folklore, sea shanties, Latin jazz, performances by local artists, and a grand party dedicated to the music of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Children and families will be catered for with magic shows, water activities, bouncy castles, creative workshops, storytelling, and various activities at the Estació del Carrilet.
A significant new addition this year is the incorporation of the total solar eclipse on August 12th into the festive program. Salou will leverage this exceptional astronomical phenomenon to host educational conferences, observation sessions, scientific workshops, children's activities, a beach yoga session, and awareness campaigns to ensure everyone can safely enjoy the eclipse. Following the eclipse, the Plaça de les Comunitats Autònomes will be the venue for Merche's concert.
The final days of the festival will be marked by traditional events honoring Santa Maria del Mar, Salou's patron saint. The program includes a solemn mass, a maritime procession through the town's streets, and the customary grand fireworks display on August 15th, which will once again illuminate the Salou coastline before thousands of spectators. The night will conclude with a performance by the Orquestra La Privada, bringing an end to two weeks of intense festive activity.
