Salou is preparing to celebrate Proud of Salou on June 27th, a festive and protest event on Passeig Jaume I, organized by the City Council and Diversity Salou to promote inclusion and LGTBI+ pride.

Salou will once again transform into a space for protest, coexistence, and celebration of diversity with the new edition of Proud of Salou. This initiative, promoted by the Salou City Council in collaboration with the association Diversity Salou, will take place on June 27th on Passeig Jaume I, and is designed as a festival open to all citizens.
The event's main objective is to foster values of inclusion, equality, and respect, while advocating for everyone's right to live with freedom, dignity, and without any form of discrimination. The program will combine leisure and family activities with institutional events, coinciding with the commemoration of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOTB).
Activities will commence at 6 PM in the plaça de les Comunitats Autònomes, which will become a meeting point with various entertainment and animation proposals for all ages, marking a day of citizen participation and coexistence.
A key moment will be the reading of the institutional manifesto for the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, reaffirming the municipality's commitment to the rights of the LGTBI+ community. Following this, the official opening speech of Proud of Salou will take place, leading into the more festive part of the day.
The event will feature a performance by comedian and impressionist Josep Ferré, known for his television appearances, who will offer a show filled with humor and popular characters.
The celebration will conclude with a musical set by a DJ, turning the square into a space for shared celebration. The organization anticipates that music will bring a close to a day that aims to balance its protest nature with the festive spirit characteristic of this event.
Through Proud of Salou, the municipality reaffirms its identity as an open, modern, and welcoming city, where diversity is considered a collective asset. The initiative emphasizes values such as respect, equal opportunities, and social cohesion, contributing to a more just and inclusive society.
