The municipality of Salou has begun 2026 with a notable improvement in its tourism figures, solidifying its position as a key destination on the Costa Daurada beyond the summer season. Data for January, February, March, and April show an average increase of 36.75% in visitor arrivals and 39% in overnight stays compared to the same period last year.
This trend, with a 2.25 percentage point difference between the growth in arrivals and overnight stays, highlights a significant pattern: visitors are not only choosing Salou more frequently but are also extending the duration of their stay. This reinforces the municipality's strategy for de-seasonalisation and validates the effectiveness of diversifying its tourism offerings.
The commitment to a broader tourism offer, encompassing gastronomy, sports, culture, historical heritage, major events, nature, coastal improvements, and service quality, is contributing to generating activity over a longer period of the year and attracting a more diverse range of visitors.
