Salou City Council has launched the new Citizen Card, a digital initiative designed to simplify the relationship between the local administration, residents, and visitors to the municipality.

The project, part of the council's digital transformation strategy, will allow users to access various public services more efficiently. In this initial phase, the card includes the tourist train pass, access to the waste collection center —with bonuses linked to waste taxes— and a direct channel to report incidents on public roads.
Although the tool has been designed primarily in digital format, the council has sought to ensure the inclusion of all groups. For this reason, people over 65 will have the option to request a physical card to avoid any technological barriers.

"We put technology at the service of people to simplify procedures, improve municipal services, and strengthen the bond with the city."

Pere Granados · Mayor of Salou
The project has a clear vocation for progressive growth. According to municipal sources, new features will be incorporated in the coming months, such as event management, ticket sales, and library card usage, thus consolidating a model of a more connected and accessible city.
