The Salou City Council has officially approved the acquisition of the former Sant Jordi church in Cap Salou for 410,000 euros, aiming to preserve the heritage site and repurpose it for public use.

Located on Donzell Marí street, the building will be transformed into a multipurpose facility for social, educational, and festive events. The project includes the renovation of the outdoor garden to host open-air cultural activities for the residential area.
According to municipal sources, the building is in good condition and will not require major construction work. The new civic center is expected to open its doors to the public by early 2027, following the completion of surrounding urban improvements.
