The Salou City Council has approved the project to build two new dog play areas, which will be located in green spaces in the Barenys area and along the Cavet road. These initiatives have an estimated investment of 110,000 euros. Furthermore, a third canine space is planned for the Covamar urbanization.
The new facilities will cover a total area of nearly 5,000 square meters. All three areas will be divided into separate enclosures for large and small dogs to ensure harmonious coexistence. They will be fenced and equipped with water fountains, benches, waste bins, and agility equipment for the dogs to play with. Perimeter shrubbery will also be planted to better integrate them into the surroundings.
The largest park will be situated on the Cavet road, at Camí Vell de la Torre, and will consist of two circular enclosures totaling 2,000 m². The other approved zone will be established near the Municipal Stadium, featuring a rectangular enclosure of 1,180 m² next to the Barenys ravine and Carles Roig street.
The council also announced that it will soon approve the project for the third dog park, which will occupy 1,600 m² in the Covamar area. This design has taken into account input from local residents.
