The third edition of the Santa Rosalia Solidarity Race, held on the evening of August 26th, marked a new high point with 550 participants, surpassing previous editions. Of these, 480 had pre-registered, and 70 purchased their bib on the day of the event.
With a 3.2-kilometer route through the town center, the race combines sporting activity with solidarity. The entire proceeds from registrations, which this year reached a record 3,300 euros, are donated to the La Muntanyeta Foundation, an organization that supports individuals with cerebral palsy.
Organized by the Ball de Malcasats and the Torredembarra City Council, with the collaboration of Xarxa Santa Tecla, the race is part of the official program for the Santa Rosalia Major Festival. The La Muntanyeta Foundation was present with some of its users, who gave the starting signal, highlighting the inclusive nature of the event.
The Councilor for Sports, Berta Castells, celebrated the growth of the race, stating that "it is an activity that brings together families, athletes, organizations, and popular culture around a solidarity cause." The president of the Ball de Malcasats, Gerard Recasens, expressed his satisfaction with the public's response and the involvement of local entities, affirming that "we want this to be an event that continues to grow and, above all, maintains its popular and solidarity spirit."
The day concluded with the award ceremony. In the absolute category, the winners were Òscar Montserrat and Emma Vendrell. In the specific classification for the Seguici entities, Jofre Martí and Laia Cañellas repeated their victories from the previous edition.
