During the morning, festive elements will visit schools to introduce popular culture to the youngest attendees. The Víbria will be the star of a special event at Plaça de les Cols at 5:30 PM, where children can say goodbye to their pacifiers. Afterwards, it will proceed to the gardens of the Casa de la Festa for its final dance of the day.
At 6:00 PM, Plaça Verdaguer will host a storytelling session organized by the Centre d’Acolliments Familiars de la Fundació Casa Sant Josep, featuring Rat Cebrián. The event will include craft workshops and the distribution of identification bracelets for the festival.
In the evening, at 9:00 PM, various points in the city will echo with the firecrackers of the fire groups announcing the official start of the festival. Participants will include the Ball de Diables, Drac, Bou, Griu, Víbria, Ball d’en Serrallonga, and Diables Voramar.
The Esbart Dansaire de Tarragona, under the presidency of Teresa Aguilar, will perform the traditional Festa Major dance at 10:00 PM in Plaça de la Font.
To conclude the night, at 10:30 PM, the Capella de Santa Tecla at Tarragona Cathedral will host a concert by the Cobla de Ministrers del Consell Municipal de la Ciutat de Tarragona, celebrating its twenty-fifth anniversary. They will perform music from the early 17th century.
