Companies within the Southern Catalonia ICT Cluster expect to open half a thousand vacancies in 2026 in Tarragona, following a 2025 that saw 508 new hires.

The third edition of the Talent Observatory shows that digital profile demand has grown for four consecutive years. Nevertheless, the sector faces a structural deficit: one in three vacancies in 2025 remained unfilled due to a lack of qualified candidates.

"The demand for technological talent is growing faster than the territory is capable of generating, which is why we must correct this structural deficit with more training."

Pablo Mazón · President of TICSud
The cluster is urging the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) to create a new Degree in Artificial Intelligence and increase Vocational Training lines in Reus and Tarragona to meet the need for AI and cybersecurity experts.
