The third edition of the Talent Observatory by the TIC Catalunya Sud Cluster, presented this Wednesday at Tecnoparc in collaboration with REDESSA, confirmed the continuous growth of the technological sector in the region. Throughout 2025, associated companies incorporated 508 new professionals, a 23% increase compared to the previous year.
Despite these positive figures, which are expected to be surpassed in 2026, the report highlights the difficulty in finding qualified personnel. Nearly half of the companies could not complete their teams, leaving 255 vacancies unfilled by the end of the year.
“"The demand for technological talent is growing faster than the territory is capable of generating"
The most sought-after profiles include specialists in Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, data engineering, cloud architects, and full-stack developers. TICSud emphasizes the need to strengthen local training, advocating for the creation of a new AI Degree at the Universitat Rovira i Virgili and expanding TIC Vocational Training lines in cities like Reus and Tarragona.
“"The TIC sector is an economic engine for Southern Catalonia, but growth may be limited if we do not reinforce local training and talent"
Concurrently, the Cluster has launched its Strategic Plan 2026–2028, prioritizing talent, innovation, and high-impact projects. Currently, the more than 100 partners of TICSud employ over 21.000 professionals and generate more than 2 billion euros in aggregated turnover in Spain.
