A strong sea storm caused moments of tension in Miami Platja on Thursday, when a group of young people had difficulty leaving the water at a water park in Platja Cristal.

The storm caused intense waves and strong gusts of wind that complicated the bathers' exit. The images show how the wind even overturned part of the water park's inflatables.
According to photographer Álvaro Calvo, who was in the area, the change in conditions was very rapid. "Coincidentally, strong wind picked up in just two minutes," he stated, suggesting the possibility of a "thermal downdraft".
The situation caused many bathers to leave the beach due to the sand being blown by the wind. Those on the inflatable had more difficulty returning to shore.

"Those on the inflatable had a harder time because the sea changed. They were able to get out little by little thanks to some lifeguards."

The young people were able to get out of the water thanks to their life jackets and the intervention of lifeguards, who went into the sea with rescue floats to help them reach the shore.
This incident occurred on a difficult day for the Tarragona coastline, where the storm forced the hoisting of the red flag on up to 17 beaches on the Costa Daurada, prohibiting swimming due to the risk of intense waves. Additionally, a 50-year-old man drowned at Llevant beach in Cunit.
