The Tarragona City Council is set to approve a 51,085 euro budget next week to conduct essential archaeological excavations in the area surrounding Sant Pau College.

This funding aims to restart the PMU-14 urban development plan, which has been stalled for months. The Generalitat de Catalunya requested further investigations after discovering potential ancient hydraulic structures on the site located near the A-7 highway.
The project includes the construction of 334 homes, designed to connect the Vall de l'Arrabassada and Els Músics neighborhoods. According to City Councilor Nacho García Latorre, the local government will advance the costs to speed up the process, with developers expected to reimburse the city later.

"Strategic trenches must be made to ensure that any findings do not interfere with the planned streets."
