The intense heat episode follows a night where temperatures did not drop below 20 degrees in coastal areas. In the city of Tarragona, values of 24 ºC were recorded early in the morning, a situation repeated in other parts of the province such as Amposta, Gandesa, and Tivissa.
According to forecasts, maximum temperatures will widely exceed 30 degrees and could reach 40 ºC in regions such as Priorat, Terra Alta, and Baix Ebre. Meteocat has set a danger level of 3 out of 6 for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.
The alert will progressively extend to other areas such as Baix Camp, Conca de Barberà, and Ribera d'Ebre. Given this scenario, authorities recommend staying hydrated, avoiding sun exposure during peak heat hours, and protecting vulnerable groups.
