The Tarragona City Council has opened a tender for road maintenance works worth 186,828 euros to prepare 14 areas of the city for the Tour de France on July 5, 2026.

The project aims to satisfy the technical requirements set by the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO). Key interventions will take place at Rambla Nova, Plaça Imperial Tàrraco, and Via Augusta, focusing on asphalt resurfacing and removing obstacles along the neutralized route.
Specific modifications include creating new access points between lanes at Argentina Avenue and Joan Miró Street. Construction companies have until April 2 to submit their bids for these essential urban improvements.
