The Tarragona City Council, through the Department of Equality, has launched a public participation process to select the women who will be featured in the new collection of Dones Tarragonines bookmarks.

Citizens can submit their proposals electronically until February 15. This initiative, managed by the Department of Equality, Feminist Policies, and LGTBI, aims to publicly recognize women who have made significant contributions and have a strong connection to the city of Tarragona.
Selection criteria mandate that candidates must have made notable contributions in any area of public life. Furthermore, all nominations must be submitted with a detailed justification of their achievements and the explicit consent of the proposed women.
Once the deadline closes, an expert committee, composed of members of the Tarragona Municipal Women's Council, will assess the suitability and public relevance of the proposals. The committee will select the definitive candidates for this year on February 19, 2026.
The Dones Tarragonines collection was established in 2011 as a joint initiative between the council and the Municipal Women's Council. Currently, 51 women have been recognized for their personal, professional, or social activism benefiting the city.
