The Meteocat weather agency has issued warnings for Tarragona this March as Storm Regina approaches, potentially bringing up to 100 liters per square meter to the region.

Weather conditions in Catalonia are set to change this Thursday. A cold air mass combined with moist easterly winds will trigger widespread rain, starting in the south. Areas such as Baix Ebre and Camp de Tarragona will experience continuous rainfall throughout the day.
Experts predict that the southern third of the territory could see between 50 and 100 mm of rain within 24 hours. In inland Tarragona, figures are expected to exceed 100 l/m2. These showers will likely be accompanied by mud due to suspended dust in the atmosphere.
The instability will persist into the weekend as a new DANA (isolated high-altitude depression) takes over. In some southern areas like Montsià, local accumulations could reach 200 l/m2 by Saturday, while snow levels will remain high at around 2,000 meters.
