The Tarragona City Council, the Diputació, and the Spanish Government have reached an agreement with Costas technicians to modify the coastal path project between Savinosa and Arrabassada beaches.

The final project establishes a width of 4.4 meters, slightly narrower than the original five meters. This size was maintained to ensure access for emergency vehicles while addressing environmental concerns raised by local groups regarding the protection of the limonium plant.
To protect the ecosystem, the path will be moved further inland within the Savinosa estate. Consequently, the Diputació de Tarragona will increase the land transfer to 15,000 square meters. The path will feature compacted earth and will not include urban furniture to maintain a natural appearance.
Construction by the company Seranco is expected to last six months, with a total investment of 955,000 euros. The 700-meter long path is scheduled to be completed and open to the public by autumn.
