The city of Tarragona has revived the Popular Bicycle Ride this Sunday after a six-year break, bringing together hundreds of people for a sporting and family event with special significance due to its connection with the upcoming Tour de France.

Hundreds of families, groups of friends, and cycling enthusiasts of all ages gathered from early morning to participate in this non-competitive event, which has become a city landmark. This year's event held particular importance, anticipating the arrival of the Tour de France.
Participants could choose between two circular routes: a family-friendly 3.3-kilometer route and a longer 11.6-kilometer route, partly inspired by the course the Tour cyclists will follow on July 5th. The event welcomed participants of all ages, allowing children, youth, and adults to enjoy a day of sport together.

"I'm participating for the sport. I also enjoy walking around Tarragona, and since it hadn't been held for 7 years, I had to take the opportunity."

The day was characterized by a family-friendly atmosphere, especially on the shorter route, where younger children could cycle at their own pace. Over 600 people were initially registered, with an estimated total participation reaching 2000.

"We came for family integration. To have a good time and enjoy the good weather and the city. This is our third time participating."
