The Tarragona region contains some of the most accident-prone road sections in Spain, according to the latest report by Automovilistas Europeos Asociados (AEA) released this March.

The study, covering the 2020-2024 period, identifies two specific points on the T-11 highway as major black spots. Kilometers 15 and 17 have recorded a combined total of 164 accidents and 216 victims, making them some of the most problematic areas in the national road network.
Beyond the T-11, other routes such as the N-340, N-240, and N-420 also show danger levels well above the national average. Experts recommend improving road signage and infrastructure design to mitigate risks in these high-incident areas across the province.
