Thousands of teachers and members of the Revolta Pagesa movement gathered this Tuesday in Plaça Imperial Tarraco, Tarragona, to demand better working conditions and defend public services.

The strike, called for teaching and administrative staff, saw participation from various regions. Protesters expressed their anger over the agreement reached between the Department of Education and the UGT and CCOO unions, claiming it lacks grassroots support.

"This agreement was signed behind the backs of all unions, without considering the opinion of the teachers."

The Revolta Pagesa group joined the rally, highlighting shared concerns such as excessive bureaucracy and the need for long-term public policies. Local police, the Guàrdia Urbana, managed traffic diversions as major roads were blocked.

"Out of 42,000 teachers consulted, only 2,000 approved the deal. We ask to be heard."
