The town of Salou hosted the International Petanca Tournament Salou Costa Daurada on Sunday. The sporting event gathered 32 teams, known as trios, and saw the participation of approximately 150 people from various parts of Catalonia, other autonomous communities, and also from Andorra.
The event, organized by the Club Petanca Salou, crowned the Club Petanca Martorell (Barcelona) as the champion in the general category. In the Consolation category, the Club Petanca Salou emerged victorious, while the Club Petanca La Plana, from Vila-seca, took the title in the Repechage category.
The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, attended the awards ceremony, which marked the end of a day characterized by competition and good camaraderie among participants.
The municipal petanca courts in Salou, located in the park between Tarragona and Pere Galés streets and the 30 d’Octubre promenade, were the venue for the tournament. This facility has five fixed courts and space to set up up to twelve playing areas, making it ideal for major events.
