This certification confirms that the SIGQ is implemented and adequately deployed to ensure the quality of doctoral programs, recognizing the structured, systematic, and continuous improvement-oriented management of studies.
AQU Catalunya's evaluation analyzed various key areas of the Doctoral School, including quality policy, program monitoring, support for doctoral candidates and faculty, resources, public information, and research. All dimensions were positively assessed, with special mentions for the design and monitoring of doctoral programs.
The evaluation committee highlighted the project for the professionalization of doctoral supervision, which includes training workshops for thesis directors and students, as a best practice.
The certification is the result of the Doctoral School's continuous work to consolidate a quality management model for doctoral studies, integrating systematic monitoring, process review, indicator analysis, and stakeholder participation.
This system allows for a comprehensive view of doctoral studies and planned action to guarantee and improve quality, in coordination with program heads and with the active participation of doctoral candidates and supervisors.
AQU Catalunya has also provided recommendations for future improvements, which the Doctoral School intends to incorporate to further strengthen its quality system.
Obtaining the SIGQ certification has allowed for the automatic renewal of accreditation for the 16 doctoral programs coordinated by the School, simplifying external quality assurance processes and recognizing the work of all involved individuals.
