The plan encompasses 30 transversal actions, with an investment of 25 million euros, of which 15 million will be contributed by the Neighborhood Plan, 5 million by the City Council itself, and 2.7 million from third parties such as entities and companies.
After not being selected in the first call, the current candidacy is considered «more solid», according to the mayor of Valls, Dolors Farré, who expressed confidence in the project's approval.
The new project introduces novelties such as the rehabilitation of the Cooperativa Agrícola building for cultural and community uses, and the recovery of two industrial buildings, Ca l’Alemany and Ca Blasi, to be designated for housing under cession of use and affordable rent.
The actions are divided into three main areas: socio-community, ecological transition, and urban transformation. The socio-community area, considered «the most human axis», includes 12 proposals such as services for vulnerable groups, a space for women, and local commerce dynamization.
In the ecological transition area, eight proposals are planned, notably the recovery of the medieval wall of Sant Francesc and the transformation of the Tarragona road into a greenway.
The third area, urban transformation, features ten proposals, including the rehabilitation of Ca Padró for the Robert Gerhard Municipal Music School, the renovation of Ca l’Alemany and Ca Blasi, and interventions in 13 streets and squares in the center.
