The Vila-seca International Short Film Festival (FICVI) has closed its submission period for its 11th edition with notable participation success. A total of 1,130 short films from 61 different countries have been registered. This figure maintains the participation trend from 2025, when the festival's tenth anniversary was celebrated with over 1,100 submitted works.
During the festival days, the public will be able to enjoy a curated selection of short films, both national and international. The program will combine emerging talent with productions already recognized within the film festival circuit.
Once the submission deadline has passed, the FICVI selection team has begun reviewing all submitted works. The objective is to choose the short films that will be part of the festival's Official Section. The selected titles will be announced in the coming months.
FICVI reaffirms its importance in the national film landscape by being a collaborating festival in the pre-selection for the Goya Awards in the fiction, animation, and documentary categories. This recognition helps to strengthen the festival's prestige and projection within the industry.
