The fourth edition of FiraBirra, La Canonja's craft beer festival, will be held on October 3rd at the parking lot of Mas de l’Hort de l’Abeurador. The event, coordinated by the Economic Promotion Department of the La Canonja City Council with the collaboration of Celler del Pallol, is consolidating itself as a gastronomic, festive, and economic revitalization initiative for the municipality.
One of the main novelties this year is the inclusion of a popular fideuà, which will be served starting at 1 PM and can be purchased with the same tickets as the fair's refreshments. This addition aims to broaden the gastronomic offer and strengthen its role as a meeting point for beer culture and gastronomy.
The day will be divided into two time slots: from 11 AM to 3 PM and from 6 PM to midnight. The program will feature craft beer stalls, food trucks, family activities, live music, and DJ sets, designed for enjoyment throughout the day.
According to Dolors Molina, the councilor for Economic Promotion, FiraBirra “is a proposal that is consolidating year after year, allowing us to combine economic promotion, gastronomy, leisure, and municipal revitalization.” Molina emphasizes that the goal is to “give visibility to the producers, establishments, and gastronomic proposals participating” and maintain a program “designed for very diverse audiences”.
Last year, the fair welcomed nearly 2,000 people and sold 4,500 drink tickets and 1,000 food tickets. The City Council values the event's ability to attract visitors from other municipalities in the Camp de Tarragona region and generate commercial activity, in addition to serving as a meeting space for La Canonja residents.
The location will allow attendees to complement their visit with the Espai Mammuthus, situated directly opposite the Mas de l’Abeurador, one of the municipality's key heritage and scientific attractions.
