The Mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, announced the suspension of the tourism promotion event scheduled at the Movistar Arena in Madrid, as a sign of mourning for the events occurred in Adamuz.

The Salou council, accompanied by PortAventura, had organized the event to showcase the history and millenary heritage of the municipality, with over 350 people confirmed. Granados appeared before the media wearing a black ribbon in respect for the victims of the rail accident.
Despite the suspension, the mayor used an informational briefing at the Casino Gran Vía to explain that the presentation focused on tourism desegmentation and one of the municipality's lesser-known assets: its historical legacy.

"Salou is not just a sun and beach municipality, but a municipality with other attractions that go beyond."

The municipality has carried out significant historical research work in collaboration with the Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), transforming the legacy from prehistory to the 18th century into a tourist experience, highlighting its role as a key natural port in the Mediterranean.
Gastronomy was also a central focus. Chef Pep Moreno, awarded a Michelin Star, along with other local chefs, had designed a menu that recreated the different historical stages of Salou. These dishes will become part of the local gastronomic heritage.
Granados announced that the presentation, including the promotional audiovisual and the historical menu, will take place “later” in Salou and will be open to all residents.
