The Director of Construction Works at Adif, Ángel Contreras, confirmed that nearly 50 teams and 150 technicians have been mobilized to carry out these repairs, which initially numbered 23 and have now risen to 29. These efforts seek to resolve the situation caused by the signaling system failure.
“"The inspections are going very well, they are very advanced, and we believe that throughout this week, all lines could be practically unblocked."
Regarding the failure of the Rodalies Centralized Traffic Control (CTC) on Monday, Adif President Pedro Marco de la Peña ruled out any hypothesis of sabotage or cyberattack. He attributed the incident to a “software error” from the technology supplier.
This software, installed three months ago, is used overnight to implement a new signaling system on the R1 line. Adif confirmed that it has already instructed its legal services to initiate proceedings and claim responsibilities from the technology company involved.
