The company M I J GRUAS S.A. will be responsible for executing the works, having been selected from a total of eleven companies that submitted bids. This action, approved during an extraordinary plenary session on Tuesday, will significantly improve road safety along a stretch of nearly ten kilometers, specifically between kilometer points 0 and 9+790.

The main improvement on the T-2021 will involve widening the road, which will increase from the current average of 5.30 meters to between 6 and 8 meters, depending on the section. Furthermore, the project includes improving all intersections with the construction of two new roundabouts, facilitating traffic between La Ràpita and Poble Nou del Delta (Amposta).

The conditioning also includes adapting various sections to create safe routes for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as improving access to adjacent agricultural paths and properties. Work will also be carried out to improve existing irrigation and drainage systems.

A portion of the works on the T-2021 road falls under the Integrated Action Project (PAI) Delta de l'Ebre. For this reason, the project has additional funding of 3,009,410 euros from FEDER funds for the 2021-2027 period, aimed at sustainable urban development.
