The Catalan agricultural sector, driven by platforms like Revolta Pagesa, has called for mobilizations on January 8 and 9, causing traffic cuts at key points in Tarragona, Lleida, and Ripollès.

The main objective of the protests is to denounce the cuts to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the impact of the trade agreement between the European Union and Mercosur, and the insufficient management of wild fauna affecting farms.
The concentrations, scheduled for Thursday, January 8, and Friday, January 9, will affect several main roads. In the Tarragona area, cuts are expected at the access to the Port of Tarragona (A-27) and on the N-340 between El Vendrell and the capital.

The calls aim to make visible the growing discomfort of the sector in the face of what they consider a lack of institutional protection and insufficient management of structural problems.

Other important mobilization points include the N-230 near Les Bordes, the C-38 at Coll d’Ares —where cross-border participation is anticipated— and the A-2 in Fondarella, in the province of Lleida. The organizing bodies expect widespread participation to defend the economic viability of farms in Catalonia.
