Between June 23rd and September 7th, the L16 provided a special reinforcement with 67 daily departures from Monday to Friday, 61 on Saturdays, and 63 on Sundays, connecting the Imperial Tarraco area with Arrabassada beach, passing through several key city routes.
Additionally, the L22 line also extended its route to El Miracle beach from August 1st to September 6th, with over 3,000 users utilizing this service to access the area around the Marina.
These figures maintain a positive trend from recent years. In 2025, the L16 already recorded a historic high with 72,292 users. This year, with 72,526 trips, the line confirms its acceptance and has more than doubled its expedition offer compared to previous years.
The president of EMT, Sonia Orts, highlighted that the data "confirm that the service reinforcement strategy we launched in 2024 has better adapted the service to summer mobility needs." She added that remaining above 72,000 users demonstrates that "citizens have incorporated this line as a regular option for accessing beaches by public transport".
Concurrently, the campaign for purchasing and recharging public transport passes, coinciding with the end of summer and the start of the school year, has managed 17,702 cards between August 31st and September 18th. Of these, 15,480 were processed at the Imperial Tarraco Customer Service Center (CAC) and 2,222 at the Massanès CAC.
The campaign proceeded smoothly thanks to reinforced citizen service resources, including support informers at the Imperial Tarraco CAC to expedite procedures before the start of the school term.
