Fourth-grade primary students from the Lestonnac school in Tarragona have visited the Tarragonès County Council to learn firsthand about the corporation's operations and the building's history.

The children, accompanied by their tutors and teachers, were welcomed by the Council's president, Joan Martí Pla, and the manager, Francisco David González, in the Plenary Hall. Both answered all their questions about their work and the functioning of the county body.
Joan Noguera, former Head of Communication and a Council employee for over 19 years, gave them an extensive historical overview of the building, from its beginnings as the old Hospital for the Poor, through the old Hospital de Santa Tecla, the period in the 16th century when it became private housing, and the subsequent renovation of the facilities to house the offices of the Tarragonès County Council from 1991 onwards.
At the end of the explanation, all the students visited the Roman remains of the exedra still preserved on the ground floor of the building, accompanied by a brief historical explanation by Joan Noguera.
