New Housing Construction in Tarragona Grows 36% in First Quarter of 2026

The Tarragona region has experienced a significant 36% increase in new housing construction during the first quarter of 2026, compared to the same period last year, according to data from the Official College of Technical Architecture of Tarragona (COATT).

This growth translates into the initiation of 304 new properties, a figure that highlights the revitalization of the sector. Concurrently, the material execution budget has exceeded 42 million euros, marking an increase of over 20% compared to 2025.
The COATT points out that the average budget per home has reached 140,250 euros, a significantly higher amount than values recorded in previous periods, indicating a potential revaluation or an increase in construction quality.
Regarding the rehabilitation sector, the first quarter of 2026 registered 191 renovation projects, a figure similar to the previous year. However, the average budget per project has seen a considerable increase, rising from 53,098 euros to 85,357 euros in one year.
During the same period, the Official College of Technical Architecture of Tarragona received notification of over 1,750 professional assignments in the region, representing a growth of more than 6% compared to 2025, consolidating the positive trend in the sector.
