Historian Lluís Balart Bohigas will give the inaugural lecture, titled ‘Anti-aircraft shelters in Tarragona. Preserving the memory of the Civil War’. The activity, part of Port Tarragona's initiatives to preserve and disseminate historical memory, will take place at 7 PM.
The program also includes a memorialization event on Thursday, October 1, in front of the old anti-aircraft shelter in El Serrallo, on Callao street. This event, featuring live music and a reciter, aims to identify and dignify this space linked to the neighborhood's history and the effects of the Civil War.
Furthermore, on October 5 and 13, the Port Archive will organize the workshop "Telling Archive Stories. Disseminating Memory", led by documentalist and historian Maribel Serra Pallarès. This free training, aimed at those interested in cultural dissemination, will offer tools to transform archival documents into accessible narratives for citizens. Places are limited and advance booking is required.
Through these activities, Port Tarragona reaffirms its commitment to the recovery and dissemination of democratic memory, promoting the preservation of documentary and historical heritage as a fundamental tool for understanding the past and fostering critical thinking.
