Viñuales was present at the Palau de Pedralbes in Barcelona for the presentation ceremony involving the 63 Catalan municipalities that will be part of the Tour route. The mayor emphasized that the event, scheduled for 2026, is the most significant to land in the city in modern times.

The mayor detailed that on July 5, the day of the second stage, Tarragona will be “the center of the world,” as aerial images will project emblematic spaces such as the Rambla Nova, the Balcó del Mediterrani, the head of the Circus, the Amphitheater, and the Via Augusta. He added that the Tour goes far beyond the strictly sporting sphere, representing an extraordinary opportunity for the region.
“"The world trusts Catalonia. We have shown that we know how to transform major events into prosperity and values."
The first stage of the Tour de France will start and finish in Barcelona on July 4. The following day, the second stage will begin in Tarragona, where riders will cover a 6-kilometer route through the heart of the city before completing nearly 180 more kilometers to reach Barcelona again.
