The investigation by the Mossos d'Esquadra focuses on an exchange of gunfire that took place on the N-340, as it passes through Vila-seca, during Friday afternoon. According to police sources, the incident occurred around three o'clock.
The occupants of one of the vehicles involved opened fire on the other car, causing the latter to crash. The victims had to be taken to a hospital for medical attention, although the extent of their injuries has not been specified.
The Catalan police do not rule out that the shooting on the N-340 is directly related to drug trafficking operations in the area.
The vehicle from which the shots were fired fled immediately after the incident. Currently, the Mossos d'Esquadra maintain an active search operation to locate those responsible and determine the exact circumstances of the event.
